The new government has made clear their intention to overturn the live export ban and restart this horrific practice, even though it’s obvious that this cannot be made into anything close to a high welfare practice. However there is still time to protect the ban, and we believe we can make the government listen by highlighting not just the welfare concerns but the reputational and economic risks that overturning the ban would pose to Aotearoa.
